Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Partnership in ODI Cricket

During the first One Day International in Guwahati of the 5 ODI matches that are scheduled

between India and West Indies, the partnership between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was

wonderful.

The match was won by India by 8 wickets and India took the lead by 1-0. India chased the 323

runs target against West Indies easily. Rohit Sharma remains unbeaten. He scored 152 runs off

117 balls and Virat Kohli made 140 Runs off 107 balls. They together put on 246 runs for India.

The current Indian Captain Virat Kohli and the Vice Captain Rohit Sharma’s partnership is

amongst the greatest in the history of ODI cricket. The two hit sparkling centuries in first ODI at

Guwahati.

The partnership between Indian batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni

and Yuvraj Singh was also the best in the history of ODI cricket.

Most double century in ODI goes to Rohit-Virat. They did it 5 times in One day Cricket. Apart

from that, Virat Kohli - Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly, and Mahela

Jayawardene-Kumar Sangakkara did it 3 times each.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the second Innings made the longest partnership till date by

making 246 runs together against West Indies. Before Rohit, this record was held by Virat Kohli

and Gautam Gambhir partnership of 224 runs against Sri Lanka.

15-century partnership stands by Virat-Rohit. Till now, only 6 pairs have achieved this landmark

and among them, Virat and Rohit are the ones who are still playing.

The average of the partnership between Virat and Rohit is 65.5 which is highest among all the

duos who have scored 15 or more century stands.

Virat and Rohit have scored 3931 runs together till now which is 7th highest runs among all the

Indian Duos. Among currently playing pairs, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma scored 3936

runs in partnership.

In 37 matches won by India, the pair average is 84.1 while their run average 42.6 in the 25

matches which India lost. This clearly depicts when they play well together, the Indian team

wins.
