Achievements and Records of Suresh Raina




Suresh Raina is an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman. He is an occasional off-spin bowler too. Raina is regarded as one of the best fielders in the World Cricket. In domestic cricket, he plays for Uttar Pradesh. In IPL, he was a captain of Gujarat Lions and the vice-captain of the Chennai Super Kings.

Not only this he had also captained the Indian cricket team and is the second-youngest player to lead Men in Blue. Raina is the first of the three Indian batsmen who have scored a century in all three formats.

Raina’s ODI debut was made when he was just 19 against Sri Lanka in July 2005. After 5 years, in July 2010, he made his test debut, that too against Sri Lanka. He scored a century on his Test debut.

When India won World Cup 2011, Raina was a part of the Indian squad captained by MS Dhoni. Other cricketers include Virender Sehwag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Piyush Chawla, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra, Yusuf Pathan, Sreesanth, Sachin Tendulkar, and Yuvraj Singh.

Suresh Raina is the third batsman in the world and first Indian batsman to hit a T20I century. He was the first ever batsman to score a T20I century when batting at number 3 position or lower. 

Raina is the twelfth Indian player to score a test century on debut.

Raina is the only Indian cricketer who scored centuries in both T20I and ODI World Cup. He is also the First Indian player to score 6000 and more runs in Twenty20 career.

Suresh Raina is the first Player to score 3000 runs in the IPL. He holds the record of most numbers of catches i.e. 86 in the IPL. He was the second in the world and first Indian player to hit 100 sixes in the IPL.

He is the first and only player to have scored over 400 runs in 7 consecutive IPL seasons. He is the first and only Indian player to have scored a century in IPL, CLT20, and T20I. He is the highest run scorer in the CLT20 i.e. 842 runs. He holds the record for scoring most number of fifties in Champions League T20 history.
